ELEGBORO COMMISSIONS WATER PROJECT DONATED BY EGBE OMO OBOKUN IJESALAND

The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, Abikehin-Ekun Agunsoye ll today commissioned the Borehole project donated to Ijebu-Jesa by the Egbe Omo Obokun Ijesaland, Baltimore, in the United States.
The project is one of such numerous humanitarian activities of the group across the entire Ijesa land. The project had been completed since March but could not be commissioned due to the outbreak of Corona Virus pandemic.
The Elegboro used the avenue to appreciate the donors for their kind gesture and ingenious thinking that gave birth to the water project. He noted that the timing of the project was divinely arranged that it became very useful for many residents at a time when constant hand washing was encouraged.
The Abikehin-Ekun further informed the gathering of how elated the group was when they got to know that the project was sited in the market where it will be useful to many residents of Ijebu-Jesa. He then prayed fervently for God’s blessings and mercy over the donors. Kabiyesi further prayed for the people of Ijebu-Jesa for sound health and peace of mind.
Earlier, Bishop JOK Olowokure eulogised the Egbe Omo Obokun for the project which he described as laudable and humane. The retired bishop of Akoko Diocese of the Anglican communion noted that water is very essential for life and healthy living. Thereafter, Professor Taiwo Olowokure prayed for the donors and the entire community.
The brief commissioning ceremony was attended by the Babaloja, Chief Olufemi Olowoye, the Iyaloja, Chief (Mrs) Adepeju Gbadebo, Chairman Ijebu-Jesa Market Committee, Pa Bisi Oderinde, other members of the market committee and some members of Elegboro-in-Ccuncil.
