In a rare display of love and patriotism to fathers land, a son of the soil, Dr. Desmond Ojumu has donated a 500kva Transformer to Ijebu-Jesa community bringing respite to the residents.
About five thousand residents living in Ajifolokun Estate and environs heaved a sigh of relief with the arrival of the brand new 500kva Transformer singlehandedly donated by the UK based philanthropist.
The people had been thrown into darkness since the month of May when the old, and apparently overloaded transformer packed up. Several efforts made by the Kabiyesi and the leadership of Ijebu-Jesa Unions’ Conference (IJUC) to get the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) replace the faulty transformer were all abortive as the company remained unyielding.
However, some youths in the community paid a visit to the house of Dr. Desmond Ojumu and appealed to him to assist get them out of darkness. This rare demands by youths who refused monetary overtures moved the budding politician into action and two days after the visit came the new transformer.
The entire community was agog when the transformer was installed and the affected areas was lighted for the first time in over six months. Everyone was full of admiration for the young Ojumu as they pray God to remove every form of darkness from his own life.
The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye and the Global President of IJUC, Engr. Oluwagbemiga Abudiore on separate occasions paid a thank you visit to the donor and prayed for God’s blessings and guidance for him. Youths in the community have also visited Dr Desmond Ojumu to say thank you for lifting them out of darkness.
