The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa has been promoted to the post of Vice Chairman, Osun State Council of Obas.
This development was communicated to the monarch in a letter from the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs dated 25th November, 2022. The letter stated that the promotion takes effect from Wednesday 23rd November, 2022.
The letter reads in part, “I am directed to inform your Majesty that the Governor of State of Osun, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola has approved your promotion from the post of Permanent Member to the post of Vice Chairman, State of Osun Council of Obas with effect from Wednesday 23rd November, 2022.”
The letter further notified the traditional ruler that the benefits and other privileges accruing to his new status start with immediate effect.
The stool of Elegboro has been a Permanent Member of the Osun State Council of Obas for a long time. However, HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye has been actively involved in the affairs of the council, contributing tremendously to its progress since ascending the throne five years ago.
Oba Agunsoye has been nominated into various committees in the council at different times, and he has lived up to expectations in all of them deploying his time and resources.
Furthermore, various activities of the current Elegboro in unifying Ijesaland have not gone unnoticed. He is equally playing vital roles in advancing the course of Ijesa North Traditional Council and Oriade Chietaincy Committee over the past five years of his reign.
As a retired civil servant who rose to the peak of his career as a Director in the Federal Ministry, the Abikehin-Ekun Agunsoye II is bringing his experience and expertise to bear on the throne. He is proving his mettle and ability to adequately manage both human and material resources and putting them into productive use for community growth and development.
By this latest development, Ijebu-Jesa has again been shot into limelight and the town is well on track to take her prime position as a force to reckon with in the state. This development is also expected to impact positively on the economic and social activities of the town and her residents.
