The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye was on Wednesday
16th March, 2022 confered with the award of excellence as “OBA T’O NI IFE ILU” by the Uniq FM / Freedom Television, Ilesa.
The award was presented to the monarch alongside other eminent Nigerians among whom is former Chief of Defence Staff,
Air Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin (rtd), former President of The Apostolic Church, Pastor (Dr) G.O Olutola, Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Olawale Olokode (PSC), Retired (Aig) Agunbiade Oluyemi Lasore (PSC Dagger) and others.
The event was the 2022 Edition of the stations’ annual programme highlighting senior citizens who have excelled in their chosen careers.
Tagged ‘NIGBA TI WA’, the programme which was aired on both the Uniq 103.1 FM and the sister station, Freedom Television availed the elders an opportunity to go down memory lanes as they narrated their journeys to success in life. They also used the avenue to admonish the youths on what to do to make it in life.
In his address, Air Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin (rtd) emphasised the need for today’s youths to learn to take things easy, noting that success do come with hard work, commitment and dedication to work. He urged them to jettison all the prevalent vices in the society.
Speaking after receiving the award, Oba Agunsoye appreciated the management and entire staff of the station for the honour. The monarch also used the avenue to advise the youths to avoid taking the fast lane or shortcuts to wealth.
According to him, “I enjoin our youths to avoid taking the fast lane or shortcuts to succeed. This will ultimately lead only to undesirable end.” He persuaded them to get a handwork and get busy with their lives, adding that agriculture is the future of the country.
