The Osun State Chief Judge, Honourable Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo has hailed the community development spirit of the people of Ijebu-Jesa in partnering with the government in an effort to ensure dividends of democracy get to the grassroots.

Justice Adepele Ojo gave this commendation while commissioning the newly renovated High Court and Magistrate Court complex in Ijebu-Jesa on Friday 15 October 2021. The court complex was renovated by the Adebusoye Olajide Adewumi Foundation.

The CJ eulogised the Founder of the Non-Governmental Organisation, Prince Adebusoye Olajide Adewumi for the efforts. She noted that the court complex which is the 14th Judicial Division in the state will serve the Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency.

She further thanked the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Oluwafemi Agunsoye and the IJUC who she noted was at the forefront of getting the Judicial Division approved for Ijebu-Jesa.

While noting that government alone cannot cater for all the needs of the populace, Justice Adepele Ojo called on Ijebu-Jesa citizens to continually ensure the protection and upgrading of government facilities in their domain.

In his welcome address, the visibly elated Founder of Adebusoye Olajide Adewumi Foundation, Prince Adebusoye Adewumi hailed the state governor, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, Justice Adepele Ojo, State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice for giving his NGO the approval to renovate the court complex built by the community through the Ijebu-Jesa Unions’ Conference (IJUC).

He added that the Foundation had renovated the Ijebu-Jesa Police Station as well as given scholarships to students at secondary and higher institutions.

HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye took time to tell the story of the High Court and Magistrate Court. He noted that upon the approval for the establishment of the court, the IJUC mobilised citizens of Ijebu-Jesa and built the court along Ere-Ijesa road. However, the Chief Judge raised security concerns about the location, hence the need for another location.

The monarch who said he was still a prince then added that the team went round the town looking for a suitable location until this very building was detected. He added that the Chief Judge expressly gave a nod for the building to be converted to court complex. This he said cost the community a fortune to put in place.

The Elegboro eulogised Prince Adebusoye Adewumi for imbibing the community development spirit of our fore fathers. He also used the occasion to appreciate the amiable wife of Prince Adewumi for supporting her husband’s positive contributions in the community. Oba Agunsoye equally thanked the Chairman of the foundation, Alhaji Toyin Obeisun who he described as the engine room for the foundation.

The IJUC Global President, Engr. Oluwagbemiga Abudiore was represented at the occasion by the Auditor for the Union, Rev’d. Oludotun Eniolorunda Esugbohungbe. He used the avenue to appreciate Prince Adebusoye Adewumi for the renovation of the complex. He then called on other citizens of Egboro land to also come home and contribute their quotas to the development of Ijebu-Jesa.
