ELEGBORO CONFERS HONOURARY CHIEFTAINCY ON PROF & MRS PATRICK LEO ADEGUN

The duo of Prof. Patrick Leo Adegun and his wife, Dr (Mrs) Kikelomo Maria Adegun have been conferred with the title of Otun Baasegun Alabe and Yeye Otun Baasegun Alabe of Egboroland by the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa.

HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye pronounced the conferment at the Grace Covenant Centre, Mojere Area of Ado-Ekiti on Saturday 18th September, 2021 where a triplicate thanksgiving service was held in honour of the Adegun family.

While making the pronouncements, the traditional ruler paid glowing tributes to the couple who he noted have contributed immensely to the medical profession, academic and humanitarian services.

The Abikehin-Ekun Agunsoye II stressed that the couple have both excelled in their choosen careers and the elevation of Prof. Adegun to the professorial position is a further testament that he is a diligent and hardworking man.

Oba Agunsoye told the congregation of his admiration for Prof Patrick Adegun for his love and passion for Ijebu-Jesa despite not hailing from the town. He added that the family donated the biggest seat in his palace today to him during the celebration of his first year on the throne some years back.

The Grace Covenant Centre had organised the triplicate thanksgiving service for the Adeguns to commemorate the professorship elevation of Prof Adegun, and also for the successful wedding programme of Richard Adebowale Adegun to his heart-rob, Tolu, as well as the occasion of the ‘Call to Bar’ of Mercy ‘Tade Adegun.

Prof. Patrick Leo Adegun who is currently the Provost, College of Medicine, Federal University Oye-Ekiti, has risen through the ranks with a dint of hardwork, diligence and dedication to attain the peak of his career.

Prof. Adegun is a native of Oye-Ekiti in Ekiti State, while his amiable wife hails from Ijebu-Jesa in Oriade local government area of Osun State.

The event was graced by many dignitaries which include the Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti, Olodogo of Odogo-Ijesa, many professors from the academics, family and friends and other well-wishers.
