ELEGBORO CELEBRATES ABOLADE AGBONTAFARA @ 50

Galaxy Event Hall on Emmanuel High Way, Ojota, Lagos was agog on Sunday 8th August, 2021 as Abolade Agbontafara (nee Kuponiyi) clocks 50.

Family, friends and loved ones, including the Elegboro, HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye and the amiable Olori Omolara Agunsoye, gathered in honour of the celebrant who is a Princess of the Ajigiteri ruling house, Ijebu-Jesa.

Speaking at the occasion, the Elegboro described Mrs Abolade as a humble, hardworking and god-fearing woman who grew up with many qualities of a leader. He noted that the celebrant had always been very disciplined and respectful of her elders, a virtue he claimed endeared her to all and sundry. He then prayed for God’s blessings and guidance for her as she begins the journey of her new year.

The patriarch of the Kuponiyi family, Prince Ayo Kuponiyi eulogised the virtues of Mrs Abolade, describing her as a daughter in whom he is well pleased. Pa Kuponiyi added that he was happy to witness the 50th birthday celebration. He also used the avenue to appreciate the husband, Mr Tunde Agbontafara who he claimed had been very supportive.

An Aunt to the celebrant and wife of IJUC Global President, Mrs Oluremi Abudiore, in a special presentation recited the Ijebu-Jesa and Ajigiteri family oriki. She also delved into her matriach family oriki from Offa, Kwara State. She also testified to Mrs Abolade’s sense of organisation and family networking which earned her the nickname ‘Coordinator General’ within the family.

In her testimony, the ‘Golden Girl’ who was visibly elated returned all the glory to her Creator who she claimed had been her pillar. She noted how she has been faced with numerous life challenges, some of which had pushed her to almost giving up at different times. She also took time to pay glowing tribute to her husband who she described as a solid rock behind her and the reason for her smiles. She took time to appreciate her children and friends as well.

Speaking further, the celebrant gave special appreciation to the Elegboro and Olori Omolara Agunsoye whose presence at the occasion she claimed was a big surprise. She also praise her spiritual father, Pastor Ojemeh of the Winners Chapel for his words of encouragement and prayers during difficult times.

The event was graced by many dignitaries, especially sons and daughters of Ijebu-Jesa which include IJUC Global President, Engr. Oluwagbemiga Abudiore and wife, Pastor Femi Faseru of KICC, Mr Samson Babajide, Mr Gbenga Atitebi, Prince Pade Kuponiyi, Prince Kunle Kuponiyi, Mr Seeni Olukiran and wife, Mr Kayode and Seyi Abe among others
