The Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Oluwafemi Agunsoye was joined by the Chairman, Oriade Local Government, Hon Olubunmi Obeisun, Professor and Bishop Olowokure, and other eminent people of the community to commission the new Bus-Stop donated by the ABC Foundation to the community.

The Elegboro and other dignitaries took turn to appreciate the spirit of giving back to the society exhibited by the sponsors of the Foundation.

Oba Agunsoye described Chief Olusola Alabi and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ariyike Alabi as great philanthropists who have been impacting lives in the education and health sectors in the community for over 21 years. Yet the duo are modest operators who never wanted publicity for their benevolent acts.

The Kabiyesi noted that he got to know of the scholarship programme for secondary school students in Ijebu-Jesa in 2018 when they had the 18th edition. He then decided to honour them with chieftaincy titles for such heroic deeds for which they expect nothing in return. The monarch added that the Foundation has since done more for the community. They were the first to send in medical consumables to the Ijebu-Jesa General Hospital and Maternity Centre in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his words, Hon. Olubunmi Obeisun poured encomiums on Chief Alabi for contributing to the growth and development of Ijebu-Jesa. He added that he took interest in the project and helped to get approval from the Town Planning Department at a reduced cost. He then called on other sons and daughters of Ijebu-Jesa to emulate the good intentions of the sponsors of ABC Foundation.

Bishop and Professor Olowokure offered heartfelt prayers for Chief Alabi and his family. They praised him for showing such great love for his hometown.

The ABC Foundation is sponsored by Chief Olusola and Chief (Mrs) Ariyike Alabi. The couple have been given scholarships to the best students in secondary schools in Ijebu-Jesa for over two decades. Earlier this year, the Foundation took up the renovation of dilapidated plumbing works at the Ijebu-Jesa General Hospital and furnished the toilets to modern status. This, according to Chief Alabi is to guarantee safety and hygienic working condition for the staff and patrons of the hospital.

Chief Olusola Alabi who is a Chicago-based nurse thanked the Kabiyesi and the entire community for appreciating the little contributions to society. He promised to continually remember his root and give back to the community.
