The Saloro of Ijebu-Jesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, Saloro Smith Olamilekan Olabisi Olaleye Ajifowobaje has donated 6 pieces of modern leather chairs to the Palace of Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, HRM Oba (Engr.) Moses Oluwafemi Agunsoye, Abikehin-Ekun, Agunsoye II.
The remarkable event coincided with the weekly meeting of the Elegboro-in-Council traditionally refers to as Ajo-Ilu. The furniture were presented to the council by the Personal Assistant to the Saloro, Mr Seyi Asolo who spoke on behalf of the donor.
Saloro Ajifowobaje noted that the decision to provide the modern chairs is necessitated by the need to provide a befitting Hall and comfortability to members of the council during meetings in addition to his contribution toward the ongoing Elegboro Palace Project.
Receiving the gifts on behalf of Oba Agunsoye who was outside the town on an important official engagement, the Saba of Ijebu-Jesa, High Chief Sunday Ojo Fasosin lauded the kind gesture of Saloro Smith Ajifowobaje and his regular contributions to the development of his town and humanity across boundaries. He posited that the set of chairs is a huge provision of modern furniture for the ongoing Elegboro Modern Palace Projects and befitting gathering for the Elegboro-in-Council.
High Chief Fasosin appealed to other eminent natives of Egboroland across the globe to emulate the spirit of patriotism and selflessness by giving back to their origin and society. He commended every illustrious sons and daughters of the land who have been unrelenting in their support to the palace project and all round development of the community.
The council members thereafter took their turn to offer prayers for the donor and all natives and residents of the community.
